Oh no! It's been announced in papers and on the news that airlines are charging for pillows and blankets in coach class. American Airlines is charging for domestic trips and some international flights longer than two hours beginning on May 1st, 2010. JetBlue and US Airways are among those also charging passengers in coach for a pillow and blanket. Since passengers have felt that the airline pillow and blankets were rarely that clean, many have been bringing their own pillow and blanket along with them on trips for years. There are compact blow up pillows available that are extremely easy to pack. Once you board the plane, you simple blow the pillow up to size. When leaving the plane, deflate the pillow and once again it will take up little or no space in your
carry on luggage. Easy Go makes a simple to use model that stows away in its own travel pouch for ease in carrying. Pillows are also available in
memory foam, or polyester fiber styles. The luxurious soft memory foam adjusts with your own body heat to a comfortable shape. While providing support to your head and neck, the memory foam pillow also "remembers" its shape. The polyester fiber comfort neck pillow is very soft and luxurious. Travel blankets roll up small and will take up little space. Some models have their own carry bags, and they fit in the outside pocket of most carry on luggage or wheeled totes for ease in transporting. The blankets and pillows are lightweight and wonderful on chilly planes, buses and trains. Of course, for children or the young at heart there are Zoobies! This is a super soft, plush stuffed toy that becomes a pillow and has a blanket inside! Sleep easily, and enjoy ultimate comfort during those long trips. And, you really don't need to pay the airlines any more money to be comfortable!
