And just which popular carry on has the Chicago Tribune called "near perfect"? It's the Maxlite by Travelpro luggage! Printed in Newsday, Sunday Februray 21, 2010, this very lightweight 22" carry on made of coated nylon is the one the Chicago Tribune has recommend as "near perfect". The convenient carry on size of the Maxlite is 22" x 14" x 9". They forgot to mention that you can also expand this
Travelpro carry on by an additional two and one half inches when you need more space! Sometimes there's a souvenir that you have to have! Or, you went shopping and made a "must have" purchase. With the two and one half inch expansion, you know you'll have room to carry more home. They did mention that they liked the seven pound carry on weight. They also liked that it is sturdy and well made. They mentioned the stitching, wheels and telecoping handle that extends to wheel the bag. They said it can be stashed easily in overhead compartments. They also liked the four zippered pockets and the top handle as well as the side handle for lifting. The only negative they found was that the outer pocket wasn't padded for a laptop. However, not everyone carries a laptop and it's easy enough to slip a laptop in that pocket by putting a sleeve or removable cover around the laptop. You can also easily carry a lightweight jacket or raincoat and travel umbrella in that outside pocket. They failed to mention the other small outside zippered pocket that holds your boarding pass, ticket, and other travel papers. This is very handy and extremely convenient when boarding a plane or train. Additionally, the Maxlite carry on is truly lightweight and easy to raise overhead and put in the overhead compartment. It also has an adjustable trolley handle for travlers of different heights. One more thing: They also showed the retail at $260, but you can purchase it at www.villageluggage.com for under $95.00. We think you'll agree that this Maxlite carry on is "near perfect!"
