Travelers are always asking, "What size luggage do I need for this trip?" We have a general rule that we follow. A carry on piece of luggage can be used for short trips or 1 to 3 days for a business trip, and can be stretched to even 4 days for a leisure trip. If you choose one of the carry ons from
Briggs & Riley luggage you get the most room available because of the outsider handle. The trolley handle does not take up important room inside the bag for your own packing needs. Remember, you can take along a "personal case" or large tote or briefcase/laptop bag as well as your carry on. A 24" or 25" piece of luggage can be used for 4 days to 8 days. If you choose an expandable model, you can use the luggage in the un-expanded state for a shorter trip and expand it for longer trips. Take along the carry on luggage and you can stretch it to two weeks. The 26" size can be used for a week to 8 or 9 day trip. Again, if you choose a piece of luggage that has expansion, you can make the case larger for the slighter longer trip. These expandable cases are like getting two bags in one! When you add carry on luggage, you'll be able to use this size for two weeks plus. Going on a cruise or a family vacation? That's when you get out the 28" or 29" size. This size can easily pack up two weeks and longer. Expand the 28" or 29" for a three week trip easily. Add a carry on piece and you're good for a month! Cold climate packing will take up more space and warm climate clothing will take up less. Remember, you need to watch the weight you pack if you are traveling by plane with a fifty pound weight limit!
